Advertising and Plagiarism Policy for the International Journal of Dental Discovery and Research

The International Journal of Dental Discovery and Research (IJDDR) is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, professionalism, and ethical standards across all its activities, including advertising. This policy establishes guidelines to ensure that advertisements published or displayed by IJDDR are authentic, original, lawful, and free from plagiarism and inappropriate use of third-party intellectual property.

Advertising Content Guidelines

Advertisements submitted to IJDDR must contain original and appropriate content intended for publication or display through the journal. Advertisers must not copy, reproduce, or substantially reproduce content from other sources without appropriate authorization.

Advertisements must not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of third parties, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, designs, or other proprietary rights.

All advertising content should be accurate, professional, relevant to the journal's audience, and consistent with applicable advertising and ethical standards.

Citing Sources and Giving Credit

When advertisements refer to third-party research, statistics, scientific findings, publications, or other external content, appropriate attribution should be provided.

Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that citations, acknowledgements, and references are included where necessary. Appropriate permission must be obtained before using copyrighted material belonging to third parties.

Use of Licensed or Copyrighted Material

Advertisements containing copyrighted or licensed material, including photographs, illustrations, graphics, videos, logos, trademarks, or other creative works, must be supported by appropriate permissions, licenses, or usage rights.

Advertisers are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions before submitting such material to IJDDR and may be required to provide evidence of authorization upon request.

Editorial Review Process

Advertising content submitted to IJDDR may undergo editorial or administrative review before publication.

The review may consider:

  • Originality of the advertising content;
  • Compliance with plagiarism and copyright requirements;
  • Appropriate attribution and citation;
  • Accuracy and clarity of claims;
  • Compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and
  • Potential infringement of intellectual property rights.

Acceptance of an advertisement does not necessarily constitute endorsement of the advertised product, service, organization, or claim by IJDDR.

Consequences of Plagiarism or Intellectual Property Violations

Advertisements found to contain plagiarism, unauthorized copyrighted material, misleading content, or other intellectual property violations may be rejected or removed.

Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or prohibition of future advertising opportunities with IJDDR. Where appropriate, significant or deliberate violations may be referred to the relevant copyright holder, institution, regulatory authority, or other appropriate body.

Reporting Suspected Violations

IJDDR encourages authors, readers, advertisers, reviewers, and other stakeholders to report suspected plagiarism, copyright infringement, or other ethical concerns relating to advertisements.

Reports may be submitted to the journal's editorial office through the official communication channels provided on the journal website. Concerns will be reviewed appropriately and, where possible, handled confidentially.

Responsibility of Advertisers

Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that all advertising material submitted to IJDDR is:

  • Original or properly licensed;
  • Accurate and not misleading;
  • Legally compliant;
  • Free from unauthorized third-party content; and
  • Consistent with applicable ethical and professional standards.

Advertisers must ensure that any claims relating to dental products, healthcare services, medicines, medical devices, or other health-related products comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

Compliance with Applicable Laws

All advertisers must comply with applicable national and local laws and regulations concerning advertising, copyright, trademarks, intellectual property, consumer protection, healthcare communication, and related matters.

IJDDR reserves the right to decline advertisements that it considers inconsistent with applicable legal requirements or the journal's ethical standards.

Editorial Independence

Advertising decisions are kept separate from editorial decision-making. The acceptance or publication of an advertisement does not influence the peer-review process, editorial decisions, manuscript acceptance, or publication of scholarly content.

IJDDR retains the right to refuse, modify, suspend, or remove an advertisement when necessary to protect the journal's academic integrity, reputation, or compliance with applicable policies.

Review and Updates

This Advertising and Plagiarism Policy may be periodically reviewed and updated to reflect changes in applicable laws, ethical standards, intellectual property practices, and developments in scholarly publishing.

Any significant updates will be communicated through the journal's official website or other appropriate communication channels.

By adhering to these guidelines, the International Journal of Dental Discovery and Research (IJDDR) aims to maintain high ethical and professional standards in advertising while protecting the rights of authors, advertisers, readers, and other stakeholders and preserving the integrity of the journal.
